Biography
Robert Abela started in software development and his 20-year career saw him cover various roles becoming proficient in Java, C, Python, and software testing. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computing and IS from the University of London and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Malta. His passion for mentoring junior software developers led him to switch to lecturing as he joined MCAST where he is a senior lecturer at the Institute of ICT.
Research Interests
Robert is very keen on quality code and captivated by security, so naturally his research efforts focus on the overlap of the two. He mentors dissertations in Runtime Verification, Automated Security Testing and other security-related topics. He is part of the ICTAR Information Security & Digital Forensics research group at MCAST while also collaborating with other players in the field.
